In the middle of 2002 Chris Murphy
started working with an Electronic band called Paradise
Lust. The band consisted of Chris, and his two uncles, John and C.
MacDonald. The three of them started work on their first CD, Metaphysical Fitness, around mid-June
and they worked on the CD until it was completed in September. The CD was a
big hit on some radio stations in Europe (e.g. Germany) and in their home country, Canada. Chris stayed with the band and decided in November
of 2002 that he also wanted to start his own project which he called Segma.
Chris worked on his first CD, Distant
Reality, until about mid-February 2003. Distant Reality has had some airplay in Canada, but Chris has not heard anything from the other
radio stations that he has sent the CD to. Segma’s newest album, Enlightenment, was
released in September 2003. The CD has over 50 minutes of pulsating
Techno and Dance beats. Chris was involved with the 2003 Prix Ars Electronica
competition and is on 2 compilation CDs so far. Chris has only
been in the music business for a little over 2 years and he has already been played over
15 times on radio stations such as CBC and in many countries such as Australia, Germany, France and England. You have to admit, that's quite the accomplishment in 2 years.
